“Smart Manufacturing” enters international markets and connects the countries of Central Asia: the project for the construction of a 35 kV substation of the Chennuo Group company in Kazakhstan has been successfully completed

Recently, Chennuo Electric Technology Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Chennuo Group”) has completed the loading of all high-voltage electrical equipment intended for the 35 kV substation construction project in Kazakhstan. The trucks, fully loaded with equipment, were safely on their way and the project was successfully completed. This shipment of power transmission and distribution equipment will be delivered to Kazakhstan, where it will contribute to the development of local power grid infrastructure and lay a strong material foundation for stable power supply in the Central Asian region. This marks another important step for the Chennuo Group in developing electricity infrastructure in Central Asian markets as part of the Belt and Road Initiative, and also brings new impetus to regional energy connectivity thanks to the strong potential of China's smart manufacturing.
Overcoming difficulties, we create exemplary foreign projects that meet high standards
The 35 kV substation project commissioned under this contract is located in the central industrial region of Almaty (Kazakhstan) and is intended primarily to meet the expansion needs of large local industrial and mining enterprises, as well as surrounding cities and towns. Since the launch of the project, Chennuo Group's technical team has overcome many challenges, including severe winter frosts, difficult geological conditions and the need to harmonize with international standards.
To ensure the delivery of the project “without defects”, Chennuo Group fully followed international standards for electric power project management at all stages - from design and selection of equipment to construction work on site. At the same time, the standards of the electric power industry of the Russian-speaking region were observed, as well as strict requirements for the deadlines for the delivery of cross-border projects. As a company specializing in the development, production and export of equipment for the transmission and distribution of high voltage electricity, Chennuo Group, thanks to its rich experience in implementing projects in the Russian-speaking region and proven product solutions, has earned high recognition from its Kazakh partners. The key equipment of the project includes Chennuo's developed and manufactured high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers, intelligent distribution circuit breakers, high-voltage disconnectors, current and voltage transformers, and other key electrical equipment. All equipment was independently produced, installed and passed a full range of standard tests at the group’s production sites. Design and manufacturing teams optimized the product's sealing and insulating design to suit local climate conditions, and organized production in strict accordance with the technical specifications of the project, ensuring long-term and stable operation of the equipment.
Technological support: from exporting equipment to providing system solutions
Unlike the traditional export of individual equipment, this project for the construction of a 35 kV substation in Kazakhstan has become a clear example of the implementation of the integrated model of entering the international market “equipment + technology + services” applied by the Chennuo Group. Chennuo Group not only provided a complete set of power transmission and distribution equipment, including transformers, high and low voltage distribution boards, reactive power compensation devices, etc., but also took an active part in developing the power grid connection diagram, calculating relay protection settings, and implementing an automated monitoring system.
Drawing on the team's technical expertise in the development of electric motors and motor control systems, as well as intelligent power transmission and distribution control, the project team developed a customized digital substation O&M solution that provides remote, real-time monitoring of substation equipment operating status and early warning of faults. This measure significantly reduced the burden on local operation and maintenance personnel, allowed a shift from passive emergency response to active prevention, and significantly increased the reliability of power supply to the regional power grid.
Uniting Central Asia, promoting the creation of a “green energy corridor”
Kazakhstan, being an energy power in Central Asia, has been accelerating the process of industrial modernization and transformation of the energy structure in recent years. Chennuo Group took advantage of this strategic opportunity to deeply integrate into the development of local power infrastructure through the 35kV-110kV substation project.
The successful commissioning of this substation not only effectively addressed long-standing problems of local industrial parks such as excessive power radius and low voltage at the end points, meeting the power requirements of the enterprises for production at full capacity, but also reserved sufficient electrical connections for the subsequent connection of new energy sources to the grid and the deployment of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
